Lippy

Winter in The Twa is literally around the corner. Snowflakes, Icicles, Skating, Scarves, L'Hockey, Sleigh Rides, Snowmen, Wreath's, Deck the halls with shitty chapped lips.

If there is anything in this world of world's that I dispise, it would have to be chapped lips.

How can one socialize with chapped lips? It's impossible!

I have to fight the chapped lip epedemic every winter due to the fact that I have rather large lips. Add a bit of chapism to those large lips and we have a problemo.

In order to fight the chapism, I have to keep my lips highly hydtrated; hence the little blue tubs of Lip Medex all over my house and vehicles.

This shit is the shit!

If it weren't for my Lip Medex, I would be lost in a world of chappy.

Thank you, Blistex; for being my pal <3

I'm Bringing Knitting Back...

I love anything soft and warm. Fuzzy socks, fuzzy blankets, fuzzy sweaters, fuzzy scarves. I think that scarves are beautiful and one of the greatest things that Winter brings out. Especially fuzzy scarves!
I was going through my scarf collection last week and decided that I needed a new fuzzy scarf. A long scarf. A scarf that I can wrap around my neck and my head. A scarf that I can tuck into my coat. A scarf that will keep my cheeks and lips warm. The perfect scarf.
In order to buy the perfect scarf I of course had to find it first. I curled up in my bed with my laptop and busted out the Google. I Googled for a good hour, looking at all sorts of different kinds of scarves and where to buy them.
Most of the scarves that I fell in love with were well over $300.00 (Canadian) which is clearly an insane price to pay...soooo...I decided to take up knitting...
I used to knit when I was younger but I didn't know how to cast on (which is the first row of the knit) I could only knit and purl (which is the actual knitting procedure). I had to learn! How, you ask, did I learn? I Googled it! Google brought me to an ab-fab knitting video on youtube that I have posted above for your viewing and learning pleasure.
It is a short video but I it taught me well. What a synch knitting is!! Too much fun!!
To practice with and for a total of $9.00 I was able to purchase .5mm knitting needles and a gigantic ball of simple white yarn from Wal-mart.
Now that I am a self-proclaimed knitting pro, I am on a mission to find the perfect yarn for my scarf and will be doing so this week. After viewing more knitting video's I do believe that I will require some thicker needles and will purchase those as well...to knit the rad scarf that I have dreamed up in my mind.
Clearly, knitting is not just for Grandmothers.

The Intro.

I am an Artist and have a passion for anything that involves a canvas and a paint brush. My creative-self is always looking for something fun to make or create.

I love to shop out good deals, listen to all types of music and cook crazy dishes.

I love to laugh and throughly enjoy bringing out the silly. It is not unlike me to turn an old song into a rap, play the air drums or embarass my loved ones in public. I am not afraid to speak with an English or French accent and I know random words in many different languages and proudly use them on a very regular basis.

I google most everything. Whether it is how to cook a Japanese dish, what type of primer is best used on furniture, pictures of Paris or how a to train your dragon; Google is my Homeboy (and homepage).

I am addicted to make-up. If it is make-up, I want it and I love it. When I was younger my dream was to be a Make-up Artist. I never did follow through with this dream but happily apply my own make-up on a daily basis. I believe that my love of make-up has to do with my love of canvas and paint. Artistry at it's best.

I reside in our Nation's Capital (which I commonly refer to as "The Twa") but grew up on a big farm in the middle of nowhere, riding horses, picking flowers, and living the hillbilly dream. I am not ashamed to be a country girl and will gladly teach anyone willing to learn how to bandage an injured horse, how to drive a tractor, when the right time to bale hay is, how to milk a cow and the ways of the land. If that isn't skilled, I don't know what is!

I am a passionate person, have strong views and love life and as my blog grows, you will learn much more about me.

Until then, thank you for taking the time to stop by and explore my life.

El Mucho Loveo,

Tawny
